NYC Restaurants: Per Se is a Restaurant in New York That Offers More than Just Amazing French Food – They Offer an Amazing Dining Experience
Park Lane Hotel – An NY Hotel is located near many of the top Restaurants in New York. One of those NYC Restaurants is Per Se which opened in 2004 as the second offering of The French Laundry’s Thomas Keller.
Neighborhood: Midtown West/Hell’s Kitchen
About Per Se:
When Chef Thomas Keller of French Laundry fame decided to open a Restaurant in New York, he was asked if it would be the same as The French Laundry. He answered that it would be not like The French Laundry per se. And so his NYC Restaurant was named.
Just a few months after opening – and after dealing with a fire that closed the NYC Restaurant for two months – Per Se was awarded 4 stars by The New York Times.
Keller has always been clear about one thing: He believes that the overall experience of dining at one of his Restaurants is just as important as the food. That is why his staff is more than just attentive – they are truly concerned with ensuring every need of every diner is met and that all expectations are exceeded.
Keller and his team create 2 daily menus of 9-courses; a chef’s tasting and a vegetable tasting. On the weekend, they also offer 5, 7 and 9-course lunch menus.
Keller calls Per Se “the urban interpretation of The French Laundry,” and, much to Keller’s delight, when guests leave they usually remember more than just the amazing food. They remember how it made them feel.
