The Jewish Film Festival started as a small Event, but it has grown each year and, now in its 23rd year, is a very well-respected and well-attended Event in New York.

The Event, which is in collaboration between the Film Society of Lincoln Center and The Jewish Museum, takes place at the Museum. Dozens of films, including documentaries, feature films and shorts, will be shown.

The films focus on Jewish culture from different perspectives, and films from around the world are submitted. Attendees can expect to see films that deal with current issues as well as historical films.

Seeing the films selected for inclusion in the festival is just part of what makes this Event in New York so interesting. Those who attend the Jewish Film Festival will also be able to listen to panel discussions that include directors, actors and others.

One highlight of the Event is the U.S. premiere of Run Boy Run. Based on a true story, this film follows a young boy who escaped from the Warsaw Ghetto in 1942 and survives on his own. It is based on the book of the same name by Uri Orlev.

Special programs, such as symposiums, are also available during the Jewish Film Festival. There is no charge for these programs, and they are offered on a first come, first admitted basis. Another special offering is the Master Class with Amos Gitai. This master class is for filmmakers. It’s free, but those wishing to attend must send an RSVP. There will be also special anniversary screenings of select films.

Park Lane Hotel is perfect choice for attendees coming from out of town. Our luxury NYC Hotel offers well-appointed rooms, exceptional service and Central Park views.

The Jewish Film Festival is a must-attend event for those interested in film, Jewish culture or Jewish history. Some events and screenings are free to the public. For others, the cost is $13 or $9 for students and those 62 and older.
