The Louis Armstrong Museum is a can’t-miss NYC Attraction for serious fans of jazz music.
A visit to the Louis Armstrong Museum is a must for any fan of jazz music. Add it to your list of Things to Do in NY during your next stay at our Central Park Hotel.
About the Louis Armstrong Museum:
You don’t have to be a jazz music aficionado to know and appreciate the contributions made by Louis Armstrong. His gravelly voice and musical talent continue to delight listeners young and old even so many years after his death.
The NYC Attraction was Armstrong’s home for 28 years. He and his wife lived here together, entertained friends, and continued to enjoy the same modest life as before he became famous. The home was converted to a Museum and now contains interesting items that provide a glimpse into the life of this iconic musician.
The Museum is set up to look much as it did when occupied by Armstrong. Some of the furnishings and other items belonged to Louis Armstrong and his wife, so the rooms paint a true picture of how the Armstrongs lived. Other interesting items, such as a life mask of Armstrong, which was added for the Museum’s 10th anniversary in 2013, are also on display.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear Armstrong playing his trumpet for some of the guests he had in his home. This intimate look at the life of a musical legend is not to be missed by any music fan. Consider a visit to this Museum during your next visit to the City.
