Top NY Things to Do: Attend a Yankees Game
Serious baseball fans and casual viewers love attending Yankees games at Yankee stadium, a modern and beautiful ballpark that’s easy to get to from Park Lane Hotel.
Since the New York Yankees unveiled their new modern stadium back in 2009, the venue has been a beloved place for baseball fans and NYC visitors looking for fun NY Activities. At Yankee Stadium, sports lovers get their fix with spirited game play (and fan fanaticism) and the casual viewer has a museum-like setting to explore.
The Yankees have had competitive seasons since the ballpark’s opening, which some say makes attending games at Yankee Stadium a little more exciting than, say, heading across town. Travel is easy to Yankee Stadium, the line of sight of play is great from any seat and ticket prices are relatively cheap. It’s a win-win-win for tourists looking for effortless, fun, and affordable NY Things to Do.
Here’s what you need to know about Attending a Yankees Game at Yankee Stadium:
Ticketing and Seating
As popular as Yankees games are, tickets prices are generally cheap and tickets are usually easy to come by. You can purchase tickets through the Yankees website, by calling the Yankee’s ticket office, or at the box office at Yankee Stadium. Tickets for bleacher seats are sometimes as low as $18. If you absolutely have to go to a game that’s sold out through normal channels, secondary market mediums like Stub Hub or Yankee Ticket Exchange (the official Yankee resale venue) may help you score seats. Keep in mind though that if you purchase resale tickets from Stub Hub, you may need to do it early so your tickets can be mailed to you.
There aren’t really any bad sightlines in Yankee Stadium. You can enjoy a game from any section of the ballpark, but if you want to go for the luxury stadium experience, consider Legends Seats. These are around the dugouts and home plate, and ticket prices for these prime spots range from $600 to $1600. You really are getting the best seats in the house, however, for these fees. The Jim Beam suites are great too. They come with club and lounge access, and you’ll be nice and comfortable on some of the only cushioned seats in Yankee Stadium.

Getting to Yankee Stadium
It’s easy to get to Yankee Stadium. If you’re leaving from Manhattan’s east side, take the #4 subway line (stops at Wall Street, Grand Central, City Hall and the Upper East Side) until you’re steps from the ballpark. Spending some time on the West Side before a game? Take the D or B (only running on weekends) subway lines from Bryant Park, Herald Square or Columbus Circle.
While you’re at a Yankees Game, make time to visit Monument Park, which sits behind the center field fence. Roaming through the park is one of the top NY Activities and it lets you view all of the retired numbers of Yankee greats along with 5 beautiful main monuments.
