7 Splurge Restaurants in New York City
In a city known around the world for its amazing food, you owe it to yourself to indulge in a fabulous meal at one of the city’s finest dining spots.
Whether you want to impress a business client, enjoy a romantic night out, or you’re just a hopeless foodie, treating yourself to at least one very special meal during your stay at Park Lane Hotel is a must. While it would take volumes to list all the amazing fine dining spots in New York City, this list of 7 of the best splurge restaurants is a great starting point!
10 Columbus Circle New York City, NY 10019
Chef Masa is known all over the world as one of the best sushi chefs. While Chef Masa himself may not be there when you visit, you can be sure that the quality of the meal will be just as exceptional as if he had prepared it himself. The prix fixe menu is $595 per person, not including beverages. Tips are not accepted. Reservation cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are subject to a fee of $200 per person.
10 Columbus Circle New York City, NY 10019
You don’t have to be a foodie to know the name Thomas Keller. This innovative chef took the culinary world by storm when he opened his West Coast hotspot The French Laundry. Those on the left coast were thrilled when Per Se opened in 2004. Two menus are offered each day: The Chef’s Tasting Menu and the Vegetable Tasting Menu. The former includes 11 courses and the latter 9 courses. Both are $325 per person.
Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare
431 West 37th Street New York City, NY 10018
Only 18 seats occupy this NYC restaurant which is a kind of theatre for foodies. Each of the seats provides a view of food preparation, so you’ll be able to watch as each of 18-or-so courses are prepared. You’ll want to plan well in advance as reservations are only taken on Monday, and they are difficult to get. The cost is about $600 per person including wine pairings.
8 Extra Place New York City, NY 10003
Another NYC restaurant where only the lucky land reservations is Momofuku Ko. For lunch or dinner, you’ll need to reserve at least a month in advance. If you’re willing to sit at the counter, you may be able to get something a couple of weeks out. Chef David Chang’s creations win rave reviews from both diners and critics, so the $195 per person (not including wine pairings) seems quite the bargain.
Fast Fact: There are so many NYC restaurants that you could eat at a new place
every night for more than 50 years, and still not visit them all.
1 Central Park West New York City, NY 10023
This NYC dining spot offers everything a fine-dining restaurant should from the fabulous food to the inviting interior and impeccable service. They offer 4 menus: the prix fixe is $138, the vegetable menu is $188, and the Jean George’s menu is $218. They also offer a dessert tasting menu. Getting a reservation here is a bit easier than at some of the other restaurants on this list. You should be able to get a table with just a couple of weeks’ notice.
60 East 65th Street New York City, NY 10065
If you’ve wanted to try NYC dining at a Michelin-rated restaurant, this is the place. The four-course prix fixe menu is on the bucket lists of many fine-dining enthusiasts. Eleven Madison Park
11 Madison Avenue New York City, NY 10010
As is the case at many of the best NYC restaurants, you’ll be as impressed with the presentation as you will with the taste. You’ll want to pause for a moment as each of the up to 9 courses is placed before you. Take time to admire the artistry before savoring each perfect bite. This spot is a little less stuffy than some others, so it’s a good choice for a novice foodie. Meals are $295 per person.
